A tough game lay in wait for our Guildford squad, away to the very club that knocked us out last year in our own back yard. With a few drop outs in the weeks leading up to the match, special thanks should go the captain Dicky and his vice’s, for managing to get 8 players out on the day.

Optimism was high in the early part of the day, Scott Seabrook was looking to continue his fine form which had led him to victory in the Captain’s Cup the day before (although his close friend Jack Daniels had other ideas).

In the first group, George Farrington and Steve Mallard played a scrappy game, never going more than 1DN, ensu...

I would like to thank everyone that played in my Captains Day and a special thanks to those that stayed for the presentation. What a great day it was with your support everything went brilliantly well with excellent feedback from you about the food. Michael the new aussie chef had promised me something ''exciting with lamb'' in honour of my kiwi connection and with his and Jimmy's Lamb Shishkebab and salad I thought they excelled. The winner of the Captains Cup, Pete Waters (pictured below) won a Stewart Trolley with a Ping Golf Bag on it, Runner up, Scott Seabrook, an M2 Driver. 3rd and 4th was Andy Alexander and...

After a week of heavy rain, the warm and sunny conditions were a blessing for Kings Hill's match against Royal Blackheath, however it became quickly apparent that should you go offline, the ever growing rough would bring severe punishment.

Out first we had the pair who won their opening match comfortably against Hever Castle, Rowley Draper and Richard Moxham. In the back match we had Steve Mallard, and our captain for the day, Danny Jones. Who had, the day before, been knocked out of the Kent Amateur Championship at the quarter final stage and was keen to get back to winning ways.

After losing the openi...

Match Result: Kings Hill 2.5 - 1.5 West Malling

Game Results:

Stephen Mallard & James Guard - Lost 3&2

Chris Smith & George Farrington - Won 2UP

Greg Murrock & Richard Francis - A/S

George Hussey & Mark Hutchinson - Won 1UP

Match Report:

Nothing could have encouraged the players at Kings Hill to put their disappointing Guilford Trophy exit behind them, than a league fixture against local rivals West Malling. The team spirit was high on the morning as warm ups were carried out and the match began.

The conditions were favourable with sunny spells and calm winds. The first pair, Steve and James, who had won their m...

The Guilford opening round draw has rarely been kind to Kings Hill, who have been sent away from home for the last three seasons (Littlestone 2013, Sheerness 2014, North Forelands 2015) which all ended in defeats. 2016 brought a refreshing home draw. Refreshing that is until we realised it would be against the defending champions Sittingbourne! Another daunting task lay ahead...

The 8 selected had a long day, playing 36 holes. 18 holes foursomes in the morning, followed by the singles matches in the afternoon. Here is a run down of the results:

Kings Hill 1 - 3 Sittingbourne

- Richard Moxham & Rowley Dra...

A dull, May Bank Holiday Monday afternoon was the backdrop for our opening Foursomes knock-out match of the season with Hever Castle providing the opposition.

Jake Bacon & Scott Cullen managed to claw back from losing positions on the back 9 to grind out a well earned half, while the back match, played by Rowley Draper and Richard Moxham, was won convincingly 4UP to send us through to the next round. Mr Moxham put the success down to his partner being "boring and steady" from the tee enabling them to remain in strong positions throughout the match. However I would rather this be viewed as simple and unrelent...

Greetings one and all.

Although it’s still cold at times I am sure like me you are all pleased the long wet winter is finally over. After watching the fantastic tv pictures from Augusta and seeing the bluebells in full bloom on our course, I hope your excited about another great season at Kings Hill.

Our first Major Competition the Masters went very well, It was a very busy time for us organisers, and from your comments and feedback it seems most of you enjoyed the whole weekend, if not all your golf! We were able to add 3 more improvements, the Starters and Scorers Gazebos and the PA system to announce e...

Match Result: Kings Hill 2.5 - 1.5 Mid Kent

Game Results:

Stephen Mallard & James Guard - Won 3&2

Richard Moxham & George Hussey - Won 5&4

Greg Murrock & Richard Francis - Lost 3&2

Rowley Draper & Mark Hutchinson - A/S

Match Report:

Kings Hill got off to a flier with the first two pairings being up in their respective matches early and never relinquishing the advantage to race to a 2-0 match lead, guaranteeing at least the draw. Losing was not an option for these two pairings due to the squad banter that would surely flow as match one played two juniors and match two had to contend with a female caddie as...

I would like to take this opportunity to give my thanks to men’s committee for looking after things while I was in New Zealand. Special thanks to Alex Parietti for a great job he did as acting captain.
I would also like to thank all the members that participated in the Captains Drive-In for making it such an enjoyable day for the four captains. It was nice to see our junior captain, Sam Vale, enjoying the day with us. I am pleased to say , with your help we raised £2819 for Spadeworks, a fantastic effort by all.
The social events held at the club so far have been a great success largely due to the outstanding wor...
