I would like to take this opportunity to give my thanks to men’s committee for looking after things while I was in New Zealand. Special thanks to Alex Parietti for a great job he did as acting captain.
I would also like to thank all the members that participated in the Captains Drive-In for making it such an enjoyable day for the four captains. It was nice to see our junior captain, Sam Vale, enjoying the day with us. I am pleased to say , with your help we raised £2819 for Spadeworks, a fantastic effort by all.
The social events held at the club so far have been a great success largely due to the outstanding work of our social secretary James Mackay. Please take note that we have the wine tasting evening on the 13th April where Shepard Neame provide wines for us to sample from which we choose the Captains Charity Wines. The following social event will be a Music and Movie quiz evening on the 21st May which I am sure will be enormous fun. Details for these events will be found on the member’s website soon.
I am sure you are all looking forward to following the U.S. Masters this year from the 7th to 10th April. I am sure the gnomes of Augusta choose their dates to coincide with our own Kings Hill Masters which is on the 9th and 10th April, we also have the nine hole par three competition preceding this on the Friday evening. If you have not already entered, don’t delay as there are only 14 spaces left, as I write this, after which the names will go on the reserve list. Entry and qualification details are on BRS and the notice board.
The Summer Knockout Competition entries have to be in by 31st March. All these competitions are either £5 per single or £5 per pair’s event entries written on brown envelopes and placed in the competition box outside the office.
After the Masters our next major competition is the Richard Moore which is on the 7th May; we will be repeating last year’s successful format, details will follow nearer the date.
